Photo Challenge #158: Marketplace People

View all 4 photos...
Here's a series taken in my local twice-weekly market a couple of weeks ago - just fitted the theme of this challenge perfectly...

Or should I say here would have been a series if fp would let me upload...

But, "where there's a will there's a way", as the saying goes. So, to show that I am not defeated by flaky fotopages, I'm linking one pic from my Google pics account.
The rest of the series will come when (if) fp recovers... Hope it won't crash completely, those guys never did come across with those cds. (Another time I'll share the secret of downloading your own copy of your fp - or maybe you've already discovered it?)

Meanwhile, here's the taster...

Update
Fotopages is working again

So, a day later, I've finally uploaded the market series.
Archway market has been brightening up a bleak paved area between the post office and a closed-down building society in an area dominated by office blocks. I'd always assumed it was a public area but apparently it belongs to one of the office blocks. That building was recently sold and the new owners evicted the market.
Since last week it has a new home just down the road but I haven't had time to visit it there yet. Will post photos of it in its new location when I do.

Seagull

It's more like November than August in London today. Hardly seems possible that it was only a couple of weeks ago when we were in sunny Cornwall...

Seagulls are cheeky birds...

The cottage next door...

Back in grey, wet, blustery London and back at work too, it's more fun to play with the pics of Cornwall. Weather down there has been pretty bad since we came back though.

Back from four days in a 'van

When my friend's brother bought the land next door to his cottage in Cornwall it was full of junk including a derelict caravan. Rather than scrap it, his wife decided to renovate it for guests. We were the guinea pigs - first visitors - and I have to say it passed with flying colours.

It's nestled high at the top of the moors between Penzance and St Ives. Wonderfully remote, peaceful and relaxing. You can just see the top of the 'van at the bottom left of pic #3. We were so lucky with the weather for the four days we were there. Mostly sun and blue skies which has been a rare occurrence in the UK this summer. Even on the one morning when it rained we were treated to a rainbow. You need to enlarge pic #6 to see it properly.
