Sirens in the City

In hot pursuit or tea-break time?

Update (in response to Flying Orange's comment below).

I got the effect of b&w with just the blue lights using the focal black & white tool in Picasa. I used a similar effect in this entry .
You can probably do it in pshop too but I'm only using Elements at the moment. I recently got a copy of CS2 but haven't had time to play with it yet.

Try and getthis at sunrise. Will be quite fascinating. Oh, by the way, you can watch "Rang de Basanti". For something very good and very heavy, watch "Apharan". Another nice movie is "Parinita". Sat 11-Nov-2006 06:19

Wellcome - by day and night

The Wellcome building on Euston Rd. Taken from the bus of course, it seems to be the only time I get to take pics these days...

Cool. Taking pictures from a bus is pretty hard. Thu 9-Nov-2006 06:34

North Circular sunset

Drove west out of London this evening. Around the North Circular and down the A40/M40 (which will mean something to anyone familiar with this part of the world).
The sky was SPECTACULAR - gold, mellowing to pink and then fading to purple. I could have taken hundreds of pics but I was DRIVING (what a wind up). Not easy to take photos in 3 lanes of moving traffic and nowhere convenient to stop. Most of the best shots were missed while I was on the move but I managed to snatch this one in a brief pause. It occurred to me that they've recently introduced a law banning the use of mobile phones while driving. I wonder whether they'll think of extending it to include digital cameras

Was then out of London but back now. Thanks all for recent comments. Will try to catch up with you all during the week.

wow that must have been fantastic, Jenny! What a pity that you were driving. Tue 7-Nov-2006 19:23
