Should I stay or should I go?

Remember that 80's song by the Clash?

That is the dilemma I have here.

Pro:
I like the community here even tho it seems a bit depleted from the halcyon days four years ago when I joined.
I like being able to upload a set of pics related to a blog entry (something that you can't do on Flickr or Fotothing).
I don't want to abandon what I've created here.

Con
It's a bit clunky and slow at times (but at least email notifications are fixed now).
It's time-consuming maintaining several different photo web pages.
Flickr is a bit large and impersonal (but I'm interested in some of the groups I belong to there...)

On balance, for the time being at least I think I'll stay. Let me know what you think!

Meanwhile, it's still cold here (OK, hardy souls, -4 is not really cold but it's much colder than it usually is in London.) Also I'm back at work so not taking a lot of new photos at the moment. What I am doing, to while away the dark winter evenings, is sorting out all the photos from our circular walk round London last year which we completed on 25 October (the last day before the dark evenings as the clocks went back that night).

Currently working on those from our first walk on 17 Feb. This entry is a few water abstracts taken on that walk.

Hello Jen!

Some comments:

Pro

I like Fotopages, perhaps because the friendlier atmosphere that it still has.
I am a little bit lazy to start again at a new place.
Some of our friends who did leave Fotopages comment how difficult it is to "grow" in other places.
All friends that did go to other places, like Flickr, did not find the strong interaction that is found here.
They seldom get any comments about their excellent photos.

Con

There is no doubt that the main problem here lies on the techno/managerial side, something that may be overcome with some guts and will.
It seems that Fotopage managers do not care much for our feedback on the performance of their site. Personally I believe they should.

Like you, I'll stay for the time being....

Hey guys..
Thanks for the feedback.
Let me address the cons you put forward..
1. It's a bit clunky and slow at times: Correct. We are working on a new version of Fotopages. The new one will be BLAZING fast.
2. It's time-consuming maintaining several different photo web pages: You gotta consolidate everything into Fotopages

The new version of Fotopages will be somewhat different that the current version. It will be more social, easier to work with (even easier than now) will have additional features that other systems out there might have, such as tagging photos, connecting photos to people and more..
It will be even easier to comment on friend's pages, and share photos..

Jen, Click, we DO care about your feedback and soon enough you will see evidence of this
